This is the second year I've done this kind of informal "holiday card," and I regret to inform you I'm still not one for introspection. I've procrastinated on writing this card for so long. But I still think it's worth taking a step back and thinking about everything that's happened this year.
BuildSD marked another year of platform and community growth, reaching a record high of nearly 12,000 unique visitors last month, launching our SB 79 Deconstructed series, and expanding partnerships with other organizations. We organized the first-ever San Diego Transit Month with RideSD and other local organizations, opened up the Trolley yard for Public Transit Enthusiasts @ UC San Diego, received a Bay Area Transit Month Riders First award at the California High School Transit Alliance, and launched headfirst into a new era of data-driven journalism at the UCSD Guardian.
All of this to say - it's been a big year, and none of these things would have happened without the patience, support, and partnership of so many people. Thank you for being one of those people.
I'm sure there's much more to look forward to next year. For now, though, time to relax and ride some transit. I've heard Campo is nice this time of year.
With ❤️ and 🚊,
Samuel
